As a group we will share our experiences of trends in conscious masculine creation, pin-point emerging archetypes of masculine presence and power, and recognize how the new masculine is showing up in our communities and in the world.

Through round-table discussion, brainstorming, and other communication exercises, we may arrive at some relevant answers regarding masculinity, but more importantly we will address the questions that arise in our circle.

Can we, as human beings, be allies to one another? Can we embrace the complexities of masculine/feminine interaction with presence? Can we let go of our preconceptions and meet one another where we are?

Sacred Sexuality and Sex Magick, East and West

Drawing upon traditions and practices ancient and contemporary, Robert and Lasara will offer a cross-cultural look at the theory and practices of sacred sexuality and sex magick.

From Indian Tantra and other Eastern traditions to Western Ceremonial Magick systems, you will receive a well-rounded presentation including cultural overview and context, as well as an understanding of how sex magick and sacred sexuality practices can enrich your life, both inside and outside of the bedroom.

Time commitment:

    This is a nine-week series.
    There’s a once a week gathering on Tuesdays, 6:30 – 8:30 PM. During the gatherings we discuss our process, progress, challenges, and realizations.
    In between gatherings everyone does the work from the chapters of Sexy Witch. None of the exercises are compulsory, or required. You do the amount of work on each chapter that works for you.

Support:

    There’s an online group (either googlegroups, or on FB if everyone is an fb person), where you can plug into the group energy between gatherings if you desire that.
    You can have a Sexy Witch Sister with whom to share and receive support with as the course goes along. If you don’t join with someone you’re already close with, I will match you up with another participant.
    Also, some of the meditations in the book are available as recordings to those who take the course.

Women, Competition, Cooperation, and Co-Creation

Autumnal Equinox,
September 20 – 22, 2013

Join your sisters for this powerful autumn equinox weekend retreat, and bring your whole self to the circle. Bring yourself in all your sexy, sweet, angry, tired, envious, joyful, powerful glory. Bring your whole range of experience and voice. In this sacred container nothing is true or untrue, and everything is open to interpretation, reinterpretation, and re-envisioning.

Embracing the Red Queen offers the opportunity to explore our power as women, and the ways we wield it. We will hold a space where it is safe to confront envy and shame, as well as the fragile feeling of becoming vulnerable.

In confronting the part that power plays in our relationships as women, we will help to liberate ourselves and each other from the chains of jealousy, envy, and disempowerment. We will empower ourselves and each other to greater strength by witnessing the evolution from competition to co-creation.

Your Facilitators

Lasara Firefox Allen, assisted by Jenya Turner Beachy, will take you deep into the process of gaining your full range of expression, owning your center, and sharing your authentic self with your sisters. Through opportunities for expressive and transparent communication, games and playful challenges, and lots of heartfelt sharing, Lasara and Jenya will guide you in this process of deepening, enlivening, and enlightening.

Location

This event will be held at the well-known, Goddess-honoring retreat center, Isis Oasis Sanctuary. Isis Oasis is in Geyserville, CA, just off the 101. It’s less then 20-minutes drive from the nearest airport (Santa Rosa, CA), about an hour and a half north of Oakland or San Francisco, and about an hour south of Willits, CA.

We will have exclusive access to a pool, hot tub, and sauna. (Bathing suits optional!) The lodge is beautifully appointed, with rooms, a dorm space, and a lovely meeting space. We will have access to the grounds, and a dining hall. See the paypal link below for pricing options for your choice of accommodations. Private rooms are limited, so register ASAP if you want one!

Isis Oasis is an animal rescue sanctuary. You may interact with the animals in the sanctuary or not, as you choose.

Meals

You will be fed six meals. Our chief chef is Durga Fuller of The Cook Awakening, from Portland. (See her bio below.) If you have a restricted diet, Durga will work with you to accommodate your personal dietary needs.

Additional Info

Our retreat will include yoga sessions, time for meditation, relaxation, and massage. And time for open socializing, playing in the pool, and getting to know one another. As well as multiple opportunities to dive deep into our shared experience of womanhood.

We request an hour (or more if you’re inspired) of your time as seva (selfless-service) to be offered sometime throughout the weekend. You can let us know your preference for seva (kitchen help, massage, clean up, set-up, elder-support…) at registration.

Durga Fuller is a practical health mystic. She has 20 years of experience cooking professionally, 10 of those years at meditation retreat centers around the world. The last 12 years she has organized and facilitated personal growth retreats, and nourished a family with food sensitivities and other health challenges.

Your body has stories to tell. Ancient stories, new stories, stories of heartbreak, stories of breaking through, stories of joy, deep stories, wild stories, even silly stories. Your markings, intentional or unintentional, carry stories, as do your cells. Your scars, body art, bones, and blood all hold memories.

This workshop offers you an opportunity to write out some of the stories your body holds. Through embodiment practices, writing prompts, memory exercises, and other techniques, Lasara will help you uncover some of your own hidden voices and allow them to speak.

No prior writing experience needed. Just bring a pen, paper or a journal, and an open mind.

Hi friends! Yes, it is true!!! Robert and I are coming to Portland preceding Beloved Festival! And, I have nailed down workshop dates and locations for Portland!

I’ve done my best to accommodate every desire brought by each of you who’s been kind enough to let me know what YOU would most like to have me offer in Portland. I hope I have done so beautifully, and that you all now RUSH to fill the classes. :-)

Classes are limited to 15 participants, and PREREGISTRATION IS REQUIRED, as classes are taking place at a private home in the Mt. Tabor Neighborhood. You will get the exact address upon registration. As a parent, you’re undoubtedly familiar with the moment of discomfort (or shock, in some cases) that follows a question from your child that you don’t feel ready to answer. Come to this workshop and become more resourceful, more sex-positive and body-positive parent.

  • Become more present in communication with your children, even when you feel triggered by the topic at hand.
  • Reach agreement with your partner(s)/co-parents about how to communicate with your kids about sex, sexuality, sensuality and bodies.
  • Learn how to create healthy boundaries without shaming your child.
  • Create your own guidelines for communication with your children.
  • Begin conversation in your household that will lead to clearer definition of a shared structure of sexual ethics.

We will discuss honesty, transparency and integrity, choice-making strategies, and modeling in the context of family. By modeling healthy behaviors, we are raising healthy children. By allowing our children to own their bodies and their sexuality, we are birthing a healthier world.

Ellie’s serves up the kind of butter-dipped, cheese-sprinkled, vegetarian goodness that screams, “I can’t believe Nixon’s finally out of office. And that this is vegetarian!”

DON’T miss the Tofu Brown Rice Salad (smothered in cheddar and sour cream and tahini marinade, drool…). Their Johnny Cakes are easily the best pancake-like substance you’ve ever had, dense and moist and chewy and crispy on the edges. And why not top it off with their delicious fruit smoothies made with some amazing kind of frozen yogurt that was milked straight from the udders of ice-cold angel-cows.

Unless you brown-bag it, you’ll be eating lunch at Cuca’s Cocina on Saturday and Sunday. And that is far from a bad thing! Being Potter Valley’s only operating restaurant is not the only thing that makes Cuca’s a popular place to eat. Cuca’s serves up some of the most delicious, authentic, mouth watering Mexican food you’ll find. $$

Ukiah Brewing Company is the first all-organic brew pub in the country. It’s one of the few see-and-be-seen venues on the Ukiah area. Meet the who’s who of the Mendo Mafia (season will be in full bloom, after all!), the chicest of the hippie chichi, and the movers and shakers of the local lefty scene.

In addition to some quality fare, you’ll have a chance to take in some local entertainment or a touring band on Saturday night. Vegan – omnivore. $$$

Oco Time is another restaurant with a mission statement in alignment with the local value of radicalism. “Yoshiki drew upon his childhood heritage of peace education and comfort food to create OCO TIME, a peace café project that features the Okonomiyaki, the soul food of Hiroshima.” This Japanese “soul food” is like nothing you’ve ever tasted. And the sushi is outstanding as well. Vegan – omnivore. Reservations required. $$$

The Himalayan Cafe is an outstanding little restaurant. The food is delicious, authentic Himalayan fare. Mmmm, good! Free dinner-time entertainment and a relaxed atmosphere contribute to a lovely dining experience. Reservations recommended. $$

Ruen Tong Thai is the local go-to Thai food destination. Excellent food, and friendly service. $$

Every town needs one high-end eats place. In Ukiah, that’s Patrona. I don’t really recommend it, but if you *need* to drop an relatively obscene amount of money on food, this is the place to go! $$$$

Come a day early or leave a day late, and eat at the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas restaurant. It’s only open from 11AM – 3PM, but it has amazing food! And the grounds and temple are beautiful as well. The City of Ten Thousand Buddhas also has an interesting history; it was built as an asylum. Closed down in the ’80s, the grounds have been transformed to a spiritual community. Talk about cleaning up some karma! Vegetarian, with tasty faux-meat dishes. $$

Why not treat this as a weekend of renewal? Go all the way by spending your evenings and mornings at the world-renowned Vichy Springs.

The Rugged:

Love camping? Than this is the option for you! Spend Friday and Saturday night at Lake Mendocino. You’ll be only about 15 minutes away from the seminar location, it’s less expensive than the other options, and you’ll get to enjoy the serenity of the Mendocino County outdoors. Book early – the campgrounds fill up all summer long.

On this front, there *may* also be a few camping spots on-site at the location of the seminar. If so, it will cost a bit more than lake-side camping, and you’ll have to nab a space quick! More in this soon.

The Easy:

If you’re not big on soaking up the local flavor, Ukiah – of course – has the usual chain hotels and motels. The further toward the north end of town you are, the less travel time you’ll have to the lovely location of the seminar.

While You’re Here…

Ukiah is home to a handful of fine art establishments and museums. From Pomo tribal culture to tattoos, there’s a little bit of something for everybody.

Ukiah Valley is a hot bed of radicalism, and has been for decades. Ukiah was an off-the-grid destination extraordinaire in the ’70s. It was the seat of Redwood Summer activism in the ’90s, passed a No GMO ordinance in 2004, decriminalized use of marijuana and growth of medical gardens, and is one of the premier pioneers of the organics movement. Ukiah and the surrounding areas are peopled with a vibrant mix of hippies and libertarians.

It’s also home to a diverse number of religious communities, spiritual communities, and has a history of major cult involvement. (Jim Jones is by far one of the most notorious in the list of the area’s historic cult-leaders.)

Mendocino County is also part of what’s known as the Emerald Triangle. Known for its world-class marijuana, Mendocino county is estimated to generate $1 billion a year in marijuana profits.

Let us know in advance if you plan on staying extra days. You can check out the organics trade from wine (Frey Vineyards, the first organic winery in the country), to beer (Ukiah Brewing Company), to food (Local Harvest CSA), to weed.

Sorry, no link for that last one. But we could probably arrange a private tour of an organic, medical grow for you. Especially if you’re willing to endure some blind-folded drive-time. You can only purchase with a valid medical user card, but if you have that you may also also want to take a tour of the local dispensaries. Fresh! It’s better than milk warm from the teat.

Philip H. First and foremost, Merry Yule! The upcoming Solstice is going to be a powerful one with many major astrological and astronomical add-ons. I hope you have an amazing time ushering in the new light, and that all your best intentions come to fruit in the next revolution of the continuous cycle of seasons.

Second, I want to let you know that I am offering my Sexy Witch teleclass series for the final time. It begins January 10th, but the registration deadline in January 1. And, the early, money-saving registration rate closes at midnight tonight, Pacific time.

The series is nine-weeks long, and teleclasses are Monday nights at 6 PM, and will be 1 -1.5 hours long. Between teleclasses there are e-group support, and occasional recorded meditations.

With Deep Acceptance, you will release attachment to who you think you should be, and begin accepting yourself for who you truly are. Deep Acceptance will allow you to build comfort with your own unknowns, even as you begin cultivating your innate wisdom.

You will allow yourself to stop striving toward an idealized goal, and become more comfortable with your life as it is – or gently relax into your life that is as you truly want it to be.

With Deep Acceptance, you’ll learn the difference between pushing the river, running the rapids, and consciously controlling the rudder of your ship. And you will learn that all three of these experiences may have a valid place at different times and in different areas of your life.

What is there to do when your career doesn’t shape up the way you think it should? When you’re facing the death of a loved one? When a deep relationship ends? When your circle of friends no longer “fits”? When you feel out of the flow of the life you have built? When you feel that your circumstances are controlling you, instead of you controlling them?

Of course there is more than one answer to any of those questions. This workshop series will help you find the answers that make sense to you.

Moving from the base of self-awareness into partnership, family, community, work, play, and culminating in integration, Deep Acceptance allows you to gain greater alignment with your personal values and desires. Using techniques drawn from diverse sources, Deep Acceptance will help you define your future direction guided by your inner truths.

This 9-week series begins January 10, 2011. The course includes one teleclass a week, weekly exercises, occasional video and audio clips, and between class discussion and support via e-group. Teleclasses are Monday evenings.

Class size is limited to 14. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your registration. Course rate is $150 if paid in full before December 15, 2010, and $175 if paid by January 1, 2011.

Sorry for the false alarm! The January Sexy Witch class series is still open. The page that showed up on my news feed and front page was supposed to be a private link for redirect for paypal payment for class. It’s designed so that the class cannot overfill, should anyone try to register after the limit is reached.
